Awaaz.De Surveys allow you to create customized voice surveys that people can access through phone calls. After calling in, the caller hears a series of prompts that you have arranged, and enters responses through voice or touchtone. The user input is automatically captured by Awaaz.De and available for you to download as a report in real time.
Using Awaaz.De’s survey web interface, you define the number of prompts (questions), their order, each prompt’s valid responses, and optionally advanced skip rules (“If the response to question 1 is 3, go to question 4”). Along with the survey structure, you upload the audio files for the survey prompts, in any language you wish. After creating the survey, it is immediately available over a dedicated phone number that people can access directly or via missed call. Using the Awaaz.De’s web console, you can also send the survey to specific recipients. After your survey broadcast has completed, log back onto Awaaz.De to download the survey results as a CSV file.
Awaaz.De Surveys are great for playing custom content and gathering numerical or voice data, especially when the target audience speaks local languages and is not savvy with text. Use Surveys if you want to gather information that can be structured as a series of multiple choice questions. Surveys are also useful for simply creating a customized IVR call tree for your users to interact with. It’s the same process, just define the order that your content plays and what to play next based on the caller’s key presses!
To explain how Surveys work, let’s take an example. Say you want to conduct a survey of current employment status of students at a university. You design the following voice survey:
Welcome to the Awaaz.De’s employment survey! This will only take a few minutes of your time.
1) Please enter your age.
2) Are you employed? If yes, press 1. If no, press 2
3) Please enter the amount of salary you earn.
4) Are you still searching for a job? If yes, press 1. If no, press 2.
Thank you for your participation in this survey!
You want everyone to hear question #1 and 2. On question #2, If the caller enters 1, question #3 should play. If they enter 2, question #4 should play.
How does it work?
You can create a voice version of this survey on Awaaz.De in 3 easy steps:
- Define the survey details and questions on the web interface
- Upload the prompts that go along with the questions and click ‘Create’.
- You are now live! After people fill out your survey, download the results in CSV.
Define the survey
This interface allows you to create voice surveys on Awaaz.De. You begin by providing some survey-level specifications, including the phone number this survey will be available on, whether the survey is accessible through a missed call, and the number of questions in the survey.
After clicking refresh, the interface displays question-level specifications.
For example in the given survey illustration, question 1 has multiple choice option (press 1 for yes, press 2 for no) while question 2 has digits as an input (salary amount)
The desired behavior of this question requires you to define some skip rules for this question. Skip rules say to jump to another question based on the response to this question. For example in question 2 of our survey you would define skip rules: skip to q3 if answer is 1 and skip to q4 if answer is 2.
An option of collecting recorded voice response is also available.
Upload prompts
Once you specify basic entry level specifications the next step is to upload prompts. The zip file you upload should also include the introductory and concluding messages that we wish to play before and after the questions.
Correct any errors and submit
Once you have specified all the question level details, you click “Create Survey” to generate the survey.
Your survey is now live! You may also log into the Awaaz.De console and send a broadcast with your survey to specified recipients.
Analytics
Awaaz.De generates on-demand result reports for all of your surveys. Optionally retrieve reports for specific time periods:
The standard results report specifies call-level data: caller’s phone number, call time, call duration and inputs given for each question.
