Record Your Messages Over The Web!

We have launched a new feature which allows you to record messages directly from the Awaaz.De web interface. Before, you could only upload a pre-recorded mp3 file. Now, you can record messages directly from the web interface through your computer microphone! CLICK HERE TO SKIP TO THE ONE-TIME SETUP INSTRUCTIONS.

You’ll find the new feature in the ‘Record/Upload’ option in your group or forum:

Clicking on this option will open a dialog letting you choose to record or upload a message. After clicking on the “Record” button, you begin speaking into your computer microphone. The dialog will indicate the length of your recording. Once you finish, click “Stop”. Play your recorded message to review it, and either re-record or select a broadcast time and click “Save”.

ONE-TIME SETUP INSTRUCTIONS FOR RECORDING

The first time you click on the “Record” button, a small flash popup may open (depending on your browser and settings) to ask permission to access your computer’s microphone:

You’ll need to click on “Allow” and close the popup. If you choose “Remember”, you will not have to do this the next time you record a message. In some browser and computer setups, you may try clicking on Allow but the dialog will not respond to your clicks. If you don’t get a response to your clicks, then perform the following steps:

  1. Go to the the “Adobe Flash Player Settings Manager” at http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager06.html (Screenshot below)
  2. Select awaaz.de from the website list.
  3. Click on “Always Allow”
  4. Close your browser’s window or tabs for both the Player Settings Manager and the Awaaz.De console
  5. Now re-open the Awaaz.De console in your browser and try recording.

Note that Awaaz.De web console currently only supports Firefox and Google Chrome web browsers. Get in touch with us if you need help getting set up or experience any problems.
