    Client’s Challenge

RefactorQ is an AI-first company building custom voice AI agents for enterprise clients across sales, customer support, collections, and onboarding use cases. Their agents are built on Vapi, a leading voice AI orchestration platform. One of their active deployments is a Customer Support voice agent for an India-based enterprise customer, handling KYC verification and validation workflows in Hindi and English.

As they moved from prototype to production, they ran into three critical infrastructure challenges:

    • No Indian DID numbers: Established firms do not support Indian DID numbers or outbound calls from Indian numbers. RefactorQ had no option but to use costly international routing, resulting in higher costs, 1–2 second latency, and TRAI compliance risks – a fundamental barrier for high-volume Indian outbound campaigns.
    • High cost and channel rental overhead: Existing providers charged channel rental fees on top of per-minute rates, making costs unpredictable and unfavourable for AI agent campaigns where a large proportion of dials go unanswered.
    • Need for near-real-time reporting: RefactorQ team required timely access to call attempt reports to manage campaigns and client SLAs. Delays in report availability were creating friction in their day-to-day operations.

RefactorQ needed a telephony hosting partner that could support their VAPI-based agent seamlessly, provide Indian numbers, better economics, transparent reporting, and infrastructure that could scale with them.

    Solution

Awaaz AI provides telephony infrastructure purpose-built for Voice AI companies operating in India – the layer between your AI agent and the Indian phone network. Rather than rebuilding their agent, RefactorQ simply pointed their existing Vapi agent to Awaaz AI’s telephony via WebSocket. Everything else stayed the same, except for a few minor configuration changes.

    • Plug-and-play Vapi integration: Awaaz AI’s WebSocket integration allowed RefactorQ to connect their Vapi agent to the platform without any major architectural changes on their end. The Awaaz AI team shared the API documentation and guided RefactorQ’s engineers through the configuration. Beyond the integration itself, RefactorQ uses Awaaz AI’s Xact API to send calls in bulk – a simple, developer-friendly interface that eliminates the need to build or manage their own dialer. Awaaz AI’s backend automatically handles scheduling and channel utilisation, ensuring maximum throughput without any additional engineering effort on RefactorQ’s side. The integration time was less than 3 FTE days, and the production deployment happened in 3 days.
    • Indian DID numbers with pure pay-per-use pricing: Awaaz AI provided dedicated Indian numbers. With no channel rental fees and billing only on answered calls, RefactorQ’s cost structure became significantly more predictable and favourable for high-volume AI campaigns.
    • Real-time and scheduled reporting: Awaaz AI’s reporting infrastructure scales to near real-time data availability, addressing RefactorQ’s need for operational visibility. Daily digests provided a consistent end-of-day summary for campaign management.
    • Concurrency at scale: The plan supports 500 simultaneous calls, giving RefactorQ the headroom to run large outbound KYC verification campaigns without throttling.
    • Dedicated support and guided onboarding: The Awaaz AI team worked closely with RefactorQ through onboarding, investigated API failure patterns, and provided guidance on optimising their use of the platform.

    Awaaz AI’s Impact

RefactorQ simply pointed their existing Vapi agent to Awaaz AI via WebSocket and everything else stayed the same. Since going live in January 2026, RefactorQ has been running their KYC verification and validation voice AI agent for their client reliably on Awaaz AI’s infrastructure for cloud telephony. Key outcomes include:

    • High voice quality at scale: Awaaz AI maintained high audio quality with minimal noise and jitter even at peak concurrency – critical for AI voice agents where call clarity directly impacts agent comprehension and conversation outcomes.
    • Real-time telemetry & call analytics: With Awaaz AI’s analytics and reporting infrastructure, RefactorQ gained full visibility into call performance, delivery rates, and campaign outcomes – without the delays or email back-and-forths they experienced previously.
    • Faster debugging cycle: With Awaaz AI’s support team available on email and real-time logs accessible, RefactorQ’s team no longer had to wait for failure data – reducing their mean time to resolve call issues.
    • Platform flexibility for future growth: RefactorQ plans to expand its use of Awaaz AI as its voice AI deployments scale.
