Tapan recently gave a personal, humorous, and thought-provoking talk at TEDx Berkeley on what it means to represent. He shared his life journey starting from a young computer scientist drawn to India by Gandhian philosophy, to a researcher developing a platform the “oddballs” and “mad scientists” in rural Gujarat, to ultimately developing the technology that eventually became Awaaz.De. A nice history lesson for anyone interested in our company’s roots. It all started with Tapan’s desires to know what it meant to represent India for himself; and to represent others by letting them speak for themselves.
